CLINICAL LEAD

Occupational Therapist

Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for a new challenge in a leadership role?

About the Service

Harpers Health, a family owned and operated Allied Health Service, is looking for a Clinical Lead to work from our child and development centre located in East Maitland, New South Wales. We have been successfully supporting children and their carers to reach their full potential for the past 9 years, and our services and team are continuing to expand.

Harpers is a multidisciplinary team of OTs, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Behaviour Practitioners, Allied Health Assistants, and dedicated Admin located across two offices in East Maitland and Morpeth. Our OT team specialises in general paediatrics; providing intervention in both clinic, school, home and community spaces across the physical, coaching and environmental spheres. We offer comprehensive, evidence based and person centred assessment, intervention and review. We value a holistic approach which maximises goal outcomes, and increases work satisfaction for both our family friendly client base, and clinical team.

About the Role

As the Occupational Therapist Clinical Lead at Harpers you will provide clinical support to the Occupational Therapy team. You will offer leadership and supervision in the form of specialist consultations and case review, goal oriented intervention and service planning, and facilitate professional development opportunities for staff relating to therapists supervision goals and relating case loads.

Harpers Clinical Leaders are responsible for supporting their team in the day to day workings, review and update processes, and facilitate clinical conversations within both the OT, and greater team, to optimise client results and maintain strong team dynamics and values.

Maintaining a clinical load may be expected depending on the number of hours worked. This can be a part time, or full time opportunity for the right candidate. A clinical caseload is valued so you have direct contact with our valued families and their changing needs; better understand the demands of a typical therapist's day and can provide accurate support related to juggling this; and so you can maintain your passion for the profession and work towards your own personal career related goals.

Perks such as an ipad, laptop, and an impressive Professional Development budget are standard in our practice. Harpers is very open to negotiation regarding additional requests you may feel you need, to perform your role to its fullest potential.

Clinical Leaders are supported by our Senior Team of Directors and our Operations Manager. We have a Finance Manager and admin A-Team that will provide you the infrastructure needed to be successful in your role. We are an NDIS Registered Provider for both Early Intervention and Behaviour and have subsequently developed a comprehensive service delivery structure parallel to our business growth plan that values the integral input from our clinical leads.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification as an Occupational Therapist with minimum 5 years experience

  • Current registration with AHPRA

  • Experience in leadership/management

  • Experience working in healthcare/disability sector

  • Experience and understanding of NDIS and Medicare

  • Experience working with a multidisciplinary team desirable

  • Very effective and efficient written and interpersonal communication skills

  • A strong ability to nurture relationships founded in respect and value for unique individual skill sets and personalities.

  • Experience working with a Paediatric population desirable

  • Experience prescribing Assistive Technology or Home Mods desirable

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check

  • Full Drivers Licence
