Harper's Health - Pilot Program
Rapid Response Service

Stabilising placements. Supporting development. Reducing carer stress.

The Harpers Rapid Response Service is a 2025 pilot initiative delivering short-term, trauma-informed intervention for children under 3 years old who have recently entered alternative care arrangements at short notice within the Hunter region.

We work in partnership with carers, caseworkers, and referring professionals to provide up to 20 hours of allied health support, helping children settle safely and thrive in new environments.

What does the service include?

  • Up to 20 hours of support from qualified Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, or Psychologists

  • Trauma-informed developmental screening

  • Carer coaching and support to reduce stress and improve placement stability

  • Transition planning recommendations based on the individual needs of each child

  • Brief summary report and handover on completion

Please note: This service does not provide placement viability assessments or long-term therapy. It complements, but does not replace, other referral pathways such as NDIS or Community Health.
